Fall Festival time is fun time at Shrine of the True Cross. The goal of the festival each year is to build fellowship as well as raise money to benefit our school and church.
New food items have been added this year. We will have a chicken fried steak dinner, Mexican food, sausage on a stick, burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, funnel cakes, spiral fried potatoes, ice treats, snacks, drinks, etc. Something for everyone!
Additional games have been added for the kids. The prize redemption booth has proven to be “kid approved” and they look forward to the large variety of prizes they can choose from. Melissa Flores is in charge ofthe games and prizes and can be reached at 713-562-4734.
Our popular cake room will be looking for your delicious cakes. These are always popular and sell out each year. Dottie Reid is in charge of this booth and can be reached at 713-398-4055.
We encourage all to be working on your items for Artisan’s Alley. Each year this room is stocked with handmade items as well as homemade baked goods; always something to look forward to. Ann Sustrick is in charge of this booth.
Our plant booth is one of our most popular booths and is greatly anticipated each year. We encourage all parishioners to start potting up those plants and other garden appropriate items now so we will have a good variety in time for the festival. Dottie Reid is in charge of this booth and can be reached at 713-398-4055.
Craft vendors continue to be a favorite part of the festival and we will have a variety again this year. Mary Ann Waer is in charge of the vendors and can be reached at 832-820-6800. The vendor application form is on the website.
Silent and Live Auction Items are needed to continue to make these the much anticipated event we have each year. All items are to be new and can be dropped off at the school or parish office. Baskets will again be created by the various classes at the school as well as items donated by parishioners and outside donors. Norma and Richard Dryer are in charge of the auctions this year and can be reached at 956-292-9546.
Sponsorship has become a vital part of our festivals. We need individuals to solicit the community for donations. This can be in the form of a monetary donation and a donation in kind.
All sponsors will be recognized on a large banner displayed at the festival. You can contact any of the following for information or questions, Richard Dryer (956-292-9546), Mary Ann Waer (832-820-6800), Linda or George Ussery (281-337-4044).
