The first catechists in any child’s life are the family members with whom he or she lives. What happens at home – both positive and negative – provides lessons for life. In the family, faith is shared as part of the unfolding of daily life. The home or “domestic church” provides a real place in which a child learns to live his or her faith as well as understanding it.
We do well to look to the Church for assistance in our faith formation. A Catholic School education is a superior way to educate the mind, heart and spirit of a child. We are very fortunate to have an accredited Catholic School in our parish. If enrollment in True Cross Catholic School is not a possibility for your family, please take advantage of the religious education programs here in our parish. We hope to assist you in your role as primary catechists by providing opportunities to grow in knowledge of the faith, moral formation, prayer, and living the life and mission of the Church.
We are always in need of catechists, office volunteers, and hall monitors.
To serve in any of these roles, you must take "Safe Environment Training for Adults." This training is available in English and Spanish. All CMG Safe Haven trainings are available online at: www.archgh.org/ocyp
